When you throw a few guys together for dinner, all they talk about is army, the fastcraft to tekong that is actually quite slow, terrible aiming at the firing range, the infamous route march to nowhere and the much appreciated bookouts. that means the girls get bored, which in turn means that the dinner doesnt really last very long. but its fine with everyone because suddenly anything after 2230 is considered late since thats the lights out time in tekong. the phrase "the night is still young" doesnt apply anymore. the only young thing you hear from army recruits is this ghost that either roams around the beaches of tekong or sits at the staircase, depending on which version you hear. nonetheless, it was great to see them again. their heads shaved and mine, er.. just kept short.
anyway, i receieved a call with a strange request to quote from my blog about the sydney band trip. apparently, they're looking for inspiring enteries to raise the morale of the current batch. similar to having motivational posters all around the bandroom. how my words are going to provide inspiration i do not know. i guess when syf is fast approaching, anything that sounds good works. i still feel pretty amused by that phone call, i dont know why.
