My trumpet playing has really degenrated. warmups were super tiring. haha.. i couldnt tell if i was in tune. the high notes were unreachable. the running notes were rubbish. but then again, the most important things in running notes are the first and last notes. anything else in between can be played using random finger movements, though if you spot an accidental midway, you might make an effort to take note of it. so long as you start and end correctly, you and the rest of the section will be fine.

I've been reading about this passion and perfection thing. thinking about it, i probably have neither of them. i'm neither passionate nor a perfectionist. at the end of the day, i just want to happy and satisfied. some people's passion and quest for perfection kills them, both figuratively and literally. i guess its a personal preference. i never really had a passion for anything. i just led my life following whatever path lay before me and choosing whatever oppurtunity there was available. some things i loved more than others, but none i would consider a passion for. i guess i'm not the sort of person who would go out of my way to indulge in a particular area of interest. i've had no hobbies. i was committed to band, but i would hesitate to say that i was passionate as well. and as for perfection, i wouldnt say its necessary all the time. you would go mad trying to make everything you touch turn into gold. frankly, some things are better left alone. sometimes, i adopt this dont care-ish attitude towards things that i feel arent worth it. i think its okay to accept not being passionate and not being a perfectionist. what is more important is being contented. for me, the knowledge of doing my best is enough. is "hearts" always the most important out of "hearts, hopes and aims"?
