On tuesday, i celebrated my 100th day in the SAF. celebrate is hardly the appropriate word but everyday is a small step towards 18th march 2009. goes to show how faithful i've been in counting my days. tuesday was also one of the corporal's ord. big sigh. i shall start planning for my ord party now. on a more interesting note, i was asked to do something different again. Officially, i'm an administrative support assistant. unofficially, i can be asked to do anything under the sun. i feel like laughing whenever i see those advertisements by the military that go along the lines of patriotism or fulfilling careers or defending the mud you stand on etc etc.. the things i do are so important to our defence. *sacarsm* haha... so anyways, my job is to escort some VIPs up from the main entrance to the conference room upstairs for a meeting with the chief of defence force. so technically i was personal assistant to that big man, though i never once saw him because instructions came down the whole long chain of command. me helping the highest ranking officer in the military. that meant no screw ups from you, you little recruit. and since i had never been to that conference room either, the truth was that i was doubly worried i might do something stupid. which i did anyway in the end. the VIPs were standing in the conference room in the dark while i tried to figure out how to switch on the lights. dont laugh! how was i to know it was those touch-screen types?
Every week, i force myself to find things to look forward to. i thought the days of living to see fridays at the start of each week would end after i graduate from school. apparently not.
