Jesus I am thirsty
Won't you come and fill me?
Earthly things have left me dry
Only You can satisfy
All I want is more of You
I haven't touched my guitar, or any other guitar for that matter, for a very, very long time. then suddenly this song came to my memory. upon taking a closer look at the lyrics, i think the first three lines are really relevant. but the next two lines really require some thinking. to be honest, can you really say for sure that only God can satisfy? we all know the "correct answer" in the back of our minds. but somehow in reality it doesnt seem so. i think most christians are unintentionally hypocrites of what we sing each week. we get swept up in the music and the feeling that we dont really realise what we just sang. but i dont think this calls for self-condemnation for lousy worship or anything like that. just something to ponder about.
