Of late some people have been commenting on their blogs about the attitude of our j1 band batch.. like how some people who pon band without any good reason or others who hate band but still join band.. and also most people including myself who fall into this category where we arent practising hard enough.. like how our current batch really seems to heading nowhere.. just practising for national day and cip stuff.. hmm... i think some of them are right.. that we are too dependent on the j2s.. maybe partially coz we're quite a small batch so we cant do a lot more as a band.. i guess if we had a smaller batch of seniors then that might have forced us to work harder.. but i think the band isnt really moving coz we've sort of lost that spark we first had at the beginning of the year.. when we were playing "real" pieces properly and not simple pieces that we cant even play now.. and now that syf and concerts are over, maybe its not worth practising so hard now and then lose it during the break for exams.. or maybe its because school work is really piling up and band is something that takes up your time at the end of a long day and you dont look forward to it.. i used to practise outside the qm room after school quite often during during the first 3 months until our muse concert.. then syf forced us to practise after school anyway.. but nowadays theres hardly any time to touch my instrument outside of the usual band days.. i used to do long tone and my range actually improved.. but now its all back to sec school levels.. i guess maybe after promos and during the year end hols when school work isnt so important anymore then people will have more energy for band.. and then we'll improve.. haha.. well we cant let next year's j1s be better than us..
So anyway today i went to school to study with band people.. i think we're the only cca that studies together.. coz we want to be smartest cca.. and so today everyone was doing maths coz test is on monday.. i think i'm prepared..
